ADHD and Intelligence [ send me this paper ] A 20 page literature review of Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) and its associated Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and the link to intelligence. ADHD and ADD have been misunderstood, misdiagnosed, over-medicated, under-treated and all other aspects of being poorly handled over the years. Despite all of the attention it has gained for itself, relatively few researchers have attempted to make any direct correlation between intelligence and the presence of ADHD. It appears that efforts in this direction get bogged down in the insufficiencies of measuring intelligence. Nevertheless, several effects of ADHD can be related to affecting intelligence as it is defined and measured. The fact that measured intelligence values can be altered with attention to language and communication complicates any effort to make a direct correlation between ADHD and intelligence. So many other factors may be operational but unidentified that establishing that link in a valid manner is difficult. It still is a worthwhile effort, however, for greater understanding of ADHD can assist in lessening its detrimental effects. Bibliography lists 18 sources. Filename: KSaddIntelli.rtf

Remember: Not all papers contain examples of thesis statements. Some provide information you can cite in support of your own thesis. To determine if a particular paper provides an exemplary thesis, review its description carefully. If the content suggests that the paper makes an argument or sets out to prove some point, then that paper inherently supports a thesis.
