The Lizzie Borden Case: Evidence and Arguments for Motive and Guilt [ send me this paper ] This is a 4 page paper discussing the guilt and motives of Lizzie Borden. One of the unsolved murder cases within the United States for over one hundred years is the “Lizzie Borden” case. While Lizzie was acquitted of murdering her father and stepmother on August 4, 1892 in Fall River, Massachusetts, there was still a lot of speculation that she in fact was guilty and the motives for the murders were sexual abuse from her father and jealousy of her stepmother. Inconsistencies in her testimony and recent investigative evidence seems to indicate that Lizzie and her sister Emma had endured years of sexual abuse which led them to distant other men while at the same time they did not like their new stepmother and the privileges and stock their father allotted to her which the sisters believed were rightfully theirs. The O.J. Simpson Case as a Miscarriage of Justice?: Biographical Information on Simpson, The Crime, Controversy and Verdict [ send me this paper ] This is a 5 page paper discussing the O.J. Simpson case. Throughout history there have been many judicial cases in which people believed that a miscarriage of justice has taken place. In some cases, it could be that someone was found guilty when in fact it was believed that he or she was innocent. Or, on the other hand, when someone was found not guilty when all the evidence seemed to indicate guilt. Probably one of the best known cases of the latter is considered that of the O.J. Simpson case in which he had been accused of the murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and waiter Ron Goldman. While the majority of the evidence seemed to indicate Simpson’s guilt, the jury nevertheless found him not guilty. While this may be considered as a miscarriage of justice by some, in reality it reflects the poor presentation and investigation of those involved who supposedly had good evidence against Simpson but overall had presented a case filled with inconsistencies, problems, police bias, and were heavily influenced by the public and the media. Remember: Not all papers contain examples of thesis statements. Some provide information you can cite in support of your own thesis. To determine if a particular paper provides an exemplary thesis, review its description carefully. If the content suggests that the paper makes an argument or sets out to prove some point, then that paper inherently supports a thesis.
