Boot: "The Savage Wars of Peace" [ send me this paper ] This 8 page paper is a review and summary of Max Boot's paradoxically titled book, "The Savage Wars of Peace." Bibliography lists 2 sources. Filename: HVMxBoot.rtf
Breaking With Moscow [ send me this paper ] 5 1/2 pages in length. Reviews the book "Breaking With Moscow" by Arkady Shevchenko. Discusses the international relations in regard to Shevchenko's defect to the United States. At age forty-seven Arkady Shevchenko was a twenty-two year veteran of the Soviet Foreign Service. From late 1970 until 1973, as an adviser to Gromyko he was able to observe the inner workings of the Politburo, the U.S.S.R.’s ruling body. He was an important prize for the Central Intelligence Agency, having been deep within the workings of the Soviet government—a place about which there was very little firsthand information. Bush’s Dilemma: The Cost of the War on Terrorism [ send me this paper ] A 3 page paper arguing that George W. Bush has no clear idea of how long the war against terrorism will last, how much it will cost or when he will need to raise taxes to pay for the effort. The bottom line is that there are too many unknowns for the Bush administration to be able to provide any firm picture of total cost of the war effort or when it will be “safe” for the economy for the administration to raise federal taxes. Without knowing how long the war effort will last, there is no way to firmly predict what the final cost will be. Without knowing that bottom-line figure, neither can tax increases be predicted. All hinges on how effective allied forces are able to be in inhibiting terrorists’ ability to act at will. Bibliography lists 2 sources. Filename: KSwarCostIraq.rtf
Cajun Company's Approach to Government Contracting [ send me this paper ] A 5 page paper discussing one company's justification for requesting exemption from government cost disclosure requirements. Cajun Company was acquired by a much larger organization active in government contracting. Cajun's senior management had avoided government contracting in the past, simply because of the weighty regulations surrounding it. An organization it has done business with over the years now has become a government contractor as well, and the government is requesting confidential and proprietary cost information from Cajun. The paper is a justification for exemption from such requirements, citing a DoD FAR class deviation in support of Cajun's arguments. Bibliography lists 1 source. Filename: KS-Cajun.wps
Can the U.S. Juggle Two Simultaneous Wars? [ send me this paper ] A 4 page exploration of U.S. strengths and weaknesses as they relate to national and world security. The author contends that the U.S. can fight more than one war at a time and, in fact, that we are currently exerting the equivalent military effort that would be required of two simultaneous wars in our cumulative presence around the world today. Bibliography lists 2 sources. Filename: PPusWar.rtf
Captain Rockwood And Haiti: Military Ethics [ send me this paper ] 5 pages in length. Captain Rockwood experienced a collision between conscience and duty, a test of one's moral constitution from which no human can escape unscathed; if the issue at hand is so daunting as to erect such a pillar of doubt, while at the same time drive one to contemplate the validity of its importance over and above one's personal conflict, then there can be no question as to the legitimacy of hesitation. From childhood and throughout his learning years, Rockwood felt an entirely different calling than the one that expected him to carry forth the family's military tradition. Indeed, the humanitarian empathy in him exuded from the apex of his entire being; how, then, could a man who at one time trained to be a priest be expected to ignore the calling of blatant barbarity? Bibliography lists 7 sources. Filename: TLCRockw.rtf

Remember: Not all papers contain examples of thesis statements. Some provide information you can cite in support of your own thesis. To determine if a particular paper provides an exemplary thesis, review its description carefully. If the content suggests that the paper makes an argument or sets out to prove some point, then that paper inherently supports a thesis.
